Executive Director, Australian Farm Institute
With a career spanning three decades, Brad Weldon is a seasoned executive and board director known for turning complexity into impact.
Brad specialises in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, bringing a broad perspective shaped by senior leadership roles across diverse sectors. His approach is defined by a blend of strategic foresight and emotional intelligence. A pragmatic, people-first leader, he partners with organisations to deliver results-oriented solutions that drive growth and foster success for leaders, employees, and clients.
Brad has had significant experience in dealing with complex relationships where individuals and organisations are operating in other jurisdictions and the challenges that can present. He also understands the need to ensure relationships are built across organisations, so there is breadth and depth in the relationships - from the board to senior management and down to those individuals at the coal face.
Sales and business development has been at the heart of Brad’s career and one of his key strengths is the ability to develop an understanding of a complex organisation, its role and opportunities within its sector and to develop and implement strategies that engage key internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes.
Brad began his career in agriculture in Queensland, working with organisations such as Grainco (now part of GrainCorp), before moving to the London Stock Exchange, Ernst & Young Australia, ME Bank, ESSSuper and First Super. In recent years, he’s returned to consulting to leverage his breadth of skills and experience to drive positive outcomes in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. He also has NFP experience having been a director of the Australian Pain Management Association (APMA), which has since merger to become Chronic Pain Australia, and so understands the increasing challenge of financial sustainability across the NFP sector.
